TGIF

Random thoughts on a Friday (some of these could be TMI, so read at your own risk):

1.) I need a plan for PMS and "that time" of the month.  (Just layin' it out there, folks.)  I've been at this discipline thing for two cycles.  And, if you look back in my blog you will see that losing my focus and feeling like my life is too overwhelming happened around those two times.  I'm sure I'm not the only female out there that experiences these feelings along with my monthly "gift."  So, I'm going to need to go in to that time with a plan next month.  I'm sure keeping up on some of the stuff listed below will help with everything too.

2.) I need to shave my legs regularly (I warned you about the TMI thing...).  Seriously, this affects more things than I originally thought.  You see, I got new disposable razors at Dollar General (don't judge) and they suck (don't say "I told you so").  I am also cheap and haven't purchased new razors - those buggers are expensive.  BUT, when my legs aren't shaved it limits my fashion options as well as my workout gear.  I can only wear hoodies and jeans for so long until I start losing my self confidence.  Skinny jeans and flats?  Can't do it because when I sit down my jeans go up and you can see my hairy legs.  Or, a dress and boots?  Nope.  Hair can't always be hidden even behind the thickest tights.  Any pair of my cropped work out pants?  Nadda.

3.) I know I am off track when I don't have a ready-to-go breakfast and I stop at McDonalds and eat way too many calories.  I need to keep making those egg things.  They work out great and keep me on track.

4.) I have what I call "elliptical shows".  These are the shows I watch while working out - on my Kindle Fire on Hulu+.  When I am on the elliptical I typically try to keep my heart rate up for 30-40 minutes.  So, I either catch up on the shows I don't remember to watch when they are actually on(Parenthood, Biggest Loser, Whitney, New Girl) or sometimes I start a new series that I haven't watched before (for instance, I just started watching Downton Abbey, but I'm not sure that's an elliptical show and may not keep going).  Right now I am caught up on all of the shows I mentioned and am looking for a new show.  I need to find an engaging show that will keep my interest and make me look forward to getting on the elliptical.  Maybe Breaking Bad?

5.) I know I am off track when I snack at night.  For the past 3 nights I have snacked at night.  Probably 400-500 calories.  Not good.  Not good at all.  And it wasn't even a mouth watering brownie or a bowl of ice cream or something "worth" the calories and stress relief.  (I should probably take a look at that whole stress eating thing at some point.)

6.) The last time I had a salad for lunch was one week ago.  Chicken fingers, pasta salad and potato chips equal WAY more than 300 calories.  Yesterday I didn't even have lunch unless you count the beef jerky from the check out line.

7.) I am loving the Lent worship services we are doing at church.  (Yep, this is a completely random list.) They are introspective and reflective with guided readings and questions.  The atmosphere is quiet with repetitive music playing in the background, low light and candles lit on the altar.  The readings are comprised of stories, bible passages, poems, blog type writing, etc.  Each week focuses on a different "theme."  This week's theme was Dependence.  Depending on God and depending on those around you - essentially being vulnerable.  That one is sticking with me.

What's on your mind today?
